David Jin is most known for the building of Skywalk, which Grand Canyon’s horseshoe-shaped bridge. He is known now for his home, which has hit the market for $30 million. This late businessman built this home, not with views of the Grand Canyon, but it does have six-stories, including an indoor basketball court, a karaoke room, and a hair salon. Skyside, as this home is known, is the highest priced home on the market in Las Vegas.

Brand New Home

Skyside was completed only a few months ago and was only lived in for a few months. Mr. Jin and his wife, Yvonne Tang, were building the home when he passed away in 2013. His wife finished the construction and moved in, but just a few months later made the decision to sell simply because she felt it was more their “vision as a couple.”

Summerlin is the community in which Skyside is located, and the contemporary home is a 24,000 square foot home that has five bedrooms, three elevators, multiple water features, and more. The outdoor swimming pool is the feature of the property with the home built around it and the driveway crosses over a brook that is manmade. The three-floor master suite features beautiful views of the Las Vegas Strip from the third-floor office, which has glass walls to enjoy the beauty. The rooftop garden measures approximately 5000 square feet and contains a hot tub, retractable screen for movie watching, and an outdoor kitchen with wok and pizza oven.

The indoor amenities that Skyside offer includes a wine cellar, gym, and a screening room. The over 1-acre property has indoor/outdoor, air-conditioned dog kennels and an eight car garage, as well as lots of room to roam and enjoy.

The land was purchased in 2006 for $1.95 million and approximately $30 million was spent building the home. The furnishings, which are worth about $2.5 million, are not included in the price of the home. Mr. Jin passed away in 2013 after a four-year battle with cancer at the age of 51 before the home was completed.

If the property is able to fetch the asking price, it will easily surpass the record. This was set just this summer by illusionist David Copperfield who bought another Summerlin home for $17.55 million. This home included a movie theatre and a nightclub as amenities.
